With year number two of roasting fresh high quality coffee beans here on Cape Breton Island upon us we now have grown beyond selling our coffee solely at The Highwheeler (our Flagship Cafe in Baddeck) and now are lucky to have partnered with various restaurants and business across Cape Breton who now serve or sell our coffee. Since this list has grown a lot since the starting of last year we thought it was time to break down where people can find our coffee on Cape Breton Island when they are not at The High Wheeler and also introduce the fine folks that sling our coffee (all of which are places you can often find Americo & I as patrons). Being that some of these businesses are seasonal we have also included the time of the year that our coffee is available in these establishments.
So without further ado here is the all-encompassing list of places where you can find Village People Coffee as of January 29th, 2024.
May to October at The Highwheeler Cafe

During the tourism season you can purchase Village People Coffee in all forms (espresso, drip, by the bag or bucket) at our flagship cafe in Baddeck (open Thursday-Monday 7am-3pm).
2. Year-round at The Outdoor Store

Located beside the Highwheeler Cafe in Baddeck the Outdoor Store is open year-round and carries a large selection of our coffee beans for sale by the bag. In the off-season (Late October to Early May) the Outdoor Store is also our sole pick-up location for Village People Signature Buckets.
3. Year-round at Cafe Marie

Located in Sydney our good friends at Cafe Marie serve Village People as their resident drip coffee as well as sell a selection of our coffee beans by the bag.
4. May to October at Live Life In Tents

Our cousin Lee serves Village People Coffee to his guests at Live Life In Tents in Margaree as well as sells a selection of our coffee by the bag. I don't want to spoil any secrets but we may or may not be currently developing a killer new roast together with Live Life In Tents geared specifically for outdoor adventures.
5. June to October at The Baddeck Lobster Suppers

Our friends Kira & Hal from BLS in Baddeck offer Village People coffee on their menu and have it built in as a staple as an opener or closer of their famous & delicious All-You-Can-Eat Lobster/Crab/Steak/Salmon meals. You might even see us there ;)
6. June to October at The Cable Room

Located within the historic Telegraph House hotel in Baddeck our friend Shawn & staff serve Village People Coffee in french presses to their guests. This was an easy fit as they go to great lengths to exclusively serve food that sources ingredients from local producers.
7. May to October at Canapa Candle

Located in Louisbourg not far from the fortress our friend Farrah sells Village People Coffee by the bag & occasionally serves our drip coffee by the cup. The real reason to walk in the door though is her large assortment of home-made candles. Rumour has it she even has a coffee scented candle coming out that smells like our Christmas Roast with hints of blueberry.
8. May to October at Fish Out Of Water

Located in Margaree beside LLIT our new friends Julia & Taylor sling Village People Coffee out of their sweet food truck which we have been hearing more and more about lately. Apparently it pairs really well with their glorious fish burgers.
So there you have it, the current all-encompassing list of where you can find our coffee on Cape Breton Island. Aside from retail, you can order all of our coffee here on our website and have them shipped anywhere in Canada for $16. We also encourage you to stop by and visit us between May and October at The Highwheeler Cafe where you will find Americo and I roasting our coffee fresh daily. We would love to chat you up about coffee on Cape Breton Island and hear about where you had your favourite coffee while you were here.
